Plate Tectonics?

This just started in the last two days. I suppose I need to write it down. It's not a dream.. its not even a vision, or maybe it is... it keeps playing over in my head. Picture a blanket as someone lifts it and shakes it out to roll across the bed. A roll or wave flows through it before it rests, the highest energy is at the end of the blanket as it snaps. Now picture it being the land under the water just off the west coast. It starts there and rolls to the mountains in a wave just like that blanket. I see again the mountains on the eastern side rip open. It plays at the speed of light through my mind and always ends with a statement. "A new plate is formed"

Two nights ago before all this started I was chatting with a friend. During our conversation I saw two events, one was obviously Rita, hitting Galveston but the other was different. It was all quiet, not a jet or car or engine. Just ash floating down covering everything in a quiet blanket. She told me she's planning on being in Seattle at Christmas. It was the next day I started seeing the above vision.

On a clear day

The most recent dream I had was on Tuesday night. The town I was in wasn't a large town. It had no tall skyscrapers.. it was just a local town somewhere in the US and I wish I knew where it was. I wasn't in my own apartment, I was in a building I never saw before and it appeared to be an industrial building. The floor began vibrating and the building shook. I went to the outdoor landing and the stairs began trembling and shaking and detached from the building. What came next was amazing.. it was a clear day.. a few puffy clouds.. no rain. I saw a wall of rolling water barrelling toward the town and the houses. I was now inside a home and bracing my legs against the shower stall preparing for the impact.

The strange thing about this particular dream is, my girlfriend had the same dream on the same night. Her circumstances of where she was and what she saw were different but it was as if her and I were in the same town watching the same event unfold. Clear day, some puffy clouds... the wall of rolling water.. the general description of the town.

So far I'm noticing that for the dreams that do come true, its about 2 months after my dream. Brace yourself folks. There are at least two more events coming this year. A devasting wall of water (broken dam? or oceanic earthquake caused wave?...and earthquake... many I speak to also talk about more fires.. more hurricanes) The best we can do is remain calm, pray and prepare contingency plans. Be careful Texas..God's speed.

How many days....

I just came off 12 hours straight of interviewing and assisting people who fled the hurricane-affected areas, so if I ramble, forgive me. There are no words to describe the size and emotional impact each family has to face. It seems insurmountable.. but its not. It's going to take time, patience, donations and volunteers. And while I’m on it.. its going to take corporate America to allow their people time off to assist.

The news reports today (09/03/05) that 42,000 people who had found temporary shelter inside of New Orleans (because they COULD NOT evacuate) have now been moved from the city. Katrina’s path, impacted tens and hundreds of thousands of people who fled effected areas to friends and family BEFORE this. How many? How many lost their homes and will need assistance. WE don’t know yet. How many are still there? WE don’t know yet. But if anyone has census figures it’ll give you a picture.. I look forward to your response.

Let me paint a VERY small picture. We had 100 families show up TODAY in our small district in Georgia. IF it takes an average of 60 minutes to interview face to face, each family (average mind you) to determine what their immediate needs are for food, shelter and clothing. 100 families x 1 hr each is 100 hrs. How do you do it in 12 hrs? You would need 8 teams. Today, we had five.

This example was for 100 families. Now lets bring it into focus. How many evacuated the affected areas? 200,000 or more? Just for a comparison, lets just look at the 42,000 reported that were moved out of the Convention Center and Superdome in the last two days. If we had 100 2-man teams to arrange to meet each family face to face , and we worked 12 hr days, with no pauses or break for meals, it would take 35 days to meet each family face to face. That’s just the families who were moved from the Superdome and Convention center. Not the ones who left before.

They need to eat. In order to assist 200,000 people within three days we would need over 8,300 volunteers.
